How to choose your perfect E-reader

I recommend that you first search each brand’s website for the books they have, or search for books that you often read, before deciding which brand to buy.

Then, I recommend prioritizing weight and size > price > special needs (such as whether you need a note-taking function, whether you listen to audiobooks, or whether you need a waterproof function).

Price is important, but more importantly, it should improve your quality of life, make you want to read, and make reading comfortable. Therefore, weight and feel are key. You can imagine what occasions you will most often read e-books in, and you will roughly know what size of machine is suitable for you.

My Choice

Since I read both Chinese and English books, with Chinese as the main language, I bought Kobo Libra 2 in 2022. Plus, it comes in white, so I chose it! It’s 7 inches in size, which I personally find to be the most comfortable screen size. It’s equipped with the E Ink Carta™ 1200 screen, is waterproof, and supports audiobooks. If you have smaller hands, you might prefer the 6-inch size, which is easier to hold in one hand and also easier to fit in your bag. I also like the bar on the right side of the device, which makes it easy for me to hold it in one hand and prevent me from accidentally touching the screen and turning the page. Additionally, one of the reasons I like the Libra 2 is the great feel of the two side buttons.
